I went to go see Sweeney Todd today. Damn, that movie is bloody! Way more bloody and gory than I had expected. I still liked it, but it was sometimes hard to watch and I'm not that squeamish with gory movies. But, how could I resist a movie with Johnny Depp in it? If you can't watch arterial blood sprays or hear the crunching of bones, definitely stay away from this movie!
Last week, I went to see Legend and I also liked that. It was a bit of a silly action movie, but still fun and worth seeing. My only issue was the 3 commericals and 9 (yes, 9) previews I was subjected to before the movie started. Luckily, most of the previews were at least interesting. Today I only had to sit through 3 previews and a 10 minute long army recruitment commercial.
I used to like going to the movies a lot and would go see at least one a week, but it hasn't been as much fun in the past couple of years because of the high ticket prices and people talking through the whole movie or being disappointed in the movie. These two good movie experiences are encouraging me to not go back to Netflix and to stick with the theaters for awhile.
